HUMMINGBIRD CLASS (NURSERY)

Learning Focus

At this age, every experience is learning in motion. We focus on communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional growth — helping each child express themselves, build confidence, and develop early friendships. Outdoor play, sensory exploration, and storytelling spark curiosity and joy.

Learning Frameworks

Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), learning unfolds naturally through exploration and discovery. Every day blends art, music, and nature-based play, laying the foundation for language, coordination, and emotional well-being.

The Kokai Experience

In Hummingbird, children begin to see themselves as capable explorers. Each smile, song, and muddy adventure builds the roots of a lifelong love of learning.

Learning continues within the EYFS framework and incorporates Jolly Phonics to build strong early literacy skills. Activities connect movement, sound, and storytelling, ensuring that learning remains active, meaningful, and rooted in children’s natural interests.

The Kokai Experience
